Columbia, Md. (October 4, 2005) – For 19 years, readers of Columbia Magazine have named a Best Home Builder in Howard County and for 19 consecutive years Columbia Builders, Inc. has been awarded that distinction. While that award underscores the work of Columbia Builders in its home county, the company has been aggressively spreading its signature developments throughout the region as well.
Howard County provided a solid base for Columbia Builders in its early years, but now the company’s work is being seen throughout the Greater Baltimore area and even moving into Pennsylvania. Today, Columbia Builders boasts developments in Baltimore and Howard counties in Md., and Franklin County, Pa.
“We are honored to be recognized for our work in Howard County,” said James Greenfield, president of Columbia Builders. “When we started we were inspired significantly by James Rouse the planner and visionary for the town of Columbia. In recognition of all that his support meant to us – and the support of this community – we are proud to continue to hold this distinction in our home-base area.”
Columbia Builders will inaugurate its newest community in Pa. in Summer 2006 known as Antrim Meadows. This entrance into this new and growing part of the Washington/Baltimore corridor represents an extension of the Columbia Builders quality home development to communities that stress a life style and a community focus. It also reflects the environmental considerations that have become a hallmark for the company’s building practices.
